Our Chapter's Founding Members


Karen Tuveson, Board President. Ms. Tuveson has been an active member of the PWCNJ Board for the past several years. She has assisted both Membership and Events Committees in organizing speakers and guests in order to attract and strengthen the diverse PWC-NJ membership, and raise the visibility of the organization. With 10+ years of experience in small business growth and development in the construction industry, Ms. Tuveson is targeting business development in the healthcare, commercial property management, and pharmaceutical markets. Ms. Tuveson is active in numerous local and state networking organizations, and is a 2011 Fellow of the Leadership New Jersey.
 


Amy Benbrook, Partner, Cohn Resnick, treasurer and founding member of PWC-NJ - Amy is a Partner at J.H. Cohn. Amy has more than 16 years of diversified public accounting experience, with a concentration in accounting, auditing and tax advisory services. Amy is a member of the Firm's Construction Industry Practice and Real Estate Industry Practice because of her depth of experience in those industries. Ms. Benbrook graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree from Monmouth University and is an active member of a number of industry associations, including the Utility Transportation and Contractors Association (UTCA), the Associated General Contractors of New Jersey (AGC), and the American Subcontractors Association (ASA). She is a member in good standing with the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the New Jersey State Society of Certified Public Accountants.
 


Lisa H. Lesser General counsel of PWC-NJ and one of the founding members - Ms. Lesser is General Counsel to Dobco Inc., a General Contracting firm in Wayne, NJ. She was a Partner with Peckar & Abramson in River Edge, NJ before joining Dobco Inc. She is licensed to practice law in New Jersey and New York. She has been recognized by New Jersey Super Lawyers for construction law. She is also a member of the American Bar Association of the New Jersey State Bar Association and its Section on Construction and Public Contract Law. Ms. Lesser received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the State University of New York in 1990 and her Juris Doctorate degree from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in 1993.
 


Laura Bianchini, Almasi Contractors, Chapter Secretary has over twenty years of experience in the construction industry. She currently works as director of projects for Almasi Companies; a multigenerational construction business specializing in site work, utility installation, soil remediation, and material delivery. Over the past two decades she has been instrumental in the growth and success of the firm. Her areas of expertise include supervision, estimating, marketing, sales and training. As an active member of the PWC, Ms. Bianchini has helped the organization to gain professional recognition through her efforts. Breaking into the world of construction as a young graduate of Rutgers University she has helped paved the way for many women in the field.

Anne Marie Almasi, Education Chair, started working for John Almasi Trucking Co. at the age of twenty. She helped the company grow from a material hauling company into a full service underground utility contractor Under her leadership the company expanded their client base to include commercial sites, pharmaceutical companies, oil and gas providers, government and educational institutions, and sports facilities. In 2002 she created her own site work company that provides earthwork, utility installation, electrical and mechanical trenching services, soil remediation, and the trucking of stone, sand, certified fill and clay. trenching services. As President and CFO of Almasi Companies, a women's business enterprise, she has achieved great success in generating opportunity for the firm. In addition to overseeing all financial decisions and negotiating bonding she is active in many aspects of the day-to-day business operations. Her responsibilities include marketing, customer service, sales, purchasing equipment and supplies, and managing employee relations.
