PWC Honors Women Who Have Cracked the Concrete Ceiling

DC President, Vinesha Clark was among the leading ladies in New York's construction world who were honored at the Professional Women in Construction's "Salute to Women of Achievement 2011" luncheon at the Yale Club in Midtown on Thursday afternoon are continuing to break ground and achieve new heights in the commercial real estate field. PWC president Lenore Janis said industry professionals must understand how "vital it is" for women to speak out and be applauded for excellence amid a challenging business environment.

On October 20, 2010, PWC-DC will host its first Salute to Women of Achievement Gala Dinner & Awards Ceremony to honor women in the District of Columbia, Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia. We all work with outstanding women and this is your opportunity to recognize their many achievements. Please take a moment to nominate an outstanding woman working in the construction industry. Outstanding women who own or are employed by a public or private owner, developer, general contractor, subcontractor, architecture/engineering firm, or a government agency in construction will be recognized for their achievements. It only takes a moment to complete the nomination form and put forth your candidate for award. ALL NOMINATION FORMS MUST BE RECEIVED ON OR BEFORE AUGUST 27, 2010. The 179D deduction can put money back in the hands of opportunistic architects, engineers, and developers who improve energy efficiency, Reznick Group Principal Lorraine Reale tells us. Enacted in the Energy Policy Act of 2005, the deduction follows similar guidelines to LEED, eg, there are levels of compliance: reduce your costs by 25% and get 30 cents on the dollar, a 40% reduction gets you 60 cents and a 50% reduction $1.80. There is a caveat, however...

The purpose of this award is to recognize outstanding women in the construction industry who exhibits strong commitment to their career, company, community and industry. Lynn was also recognized at the PWC 'Salute to Women' event in NY.
