She wasn’t born in Philadelphia but got here as quickly as she could.
Kaitlyn Blazer was raised in small-town Maryland where she spent her free time with friends and at the beach. The city, however, was calling and she answered. Obtaining her degree from Drexel University was a no-brainer for Kaitlyn – she loved Philadelphia, she could play lacrosse for a Division I school, and had the opportunity to study abroad (London) while gaining 18 months of work experience before entering the “real world.” Kaitlyn received her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Marketing with a minor in Communications. The last of her 3 co-ops landed Kaitlyn as a marketing intern at a national construction and facility management company. She stayed on as a full-time employee after graduating to begin her career in the wonderful world of construction.
Over her 7-years at this firm, Kaitlyn benefited from many incredible mentors who worked with her and coached her on a trajectory for success and fast-tracked her into Business Development, a role in which she thrives. In fact, in the newest chapter of her career, Kaitlyn recently joined Structure Tone as Business Development Manager, where she is charged with diversifying the company’s portfolio and growing her division outside of center city Philadelphia.
The combination of construction and mentoring is what drew Kaitlyn to PWC, “Having strong mentors has been instrumental in my career. PWC affords me the opportunity to ‘pay it forward;’ to help mentor and develop other motivated, young females in this industry.”
11 years after arriving in Philadelphia, Kaitlyn can’t imagine her life anywhere else. She remains in awe of how far this city has come and enjoys being “in the know” of the development of the city – what’s going on and where. She spends her spare time with her friends, trying new Philadelphia restaurants, bars, parks/outdoor spaces, and taking advantage of the feel and vibe that the City of Brotherly Love has to offer. “This big city with a small-town feel allows me to thrive, both personally and professionally. I don’t plan to live anywhere else – Philly is home,” shared Kaitlyn. “Oh, and while I’ll always love the Ravens most, I love to root for the home team – Go E-A-G-L-E-S!”
