Norma Tempel, president and founding member of PWC-NJ - Norma is also President and founder of Etched in Stone Waterjet Fabrications, Inc. With more than 30 years of experience in the construction industry, Norma has led her company with innovation, passion and commitment. She is a founding member of the New Jersey chapter of Professional Women in Construction and recipient of the 2005 Business Woman of the Year award by the Bergen County chapter of NJAWBO. Norma is also active in the American Society of Interior Designers and the Greater Hackensack Chamber of Commerce.
Marci Gnandt, vice president of PWC-NJ - Marci is the Chief Executive Officer of Advance Electric Co., Inc., a commercial and industrial electrical contractor serving New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania for over 38 years. Marci received her Bachelors' of Science in Business Administration prior to receiving her Masters' in Business Administration from Rider University. Marci is an active member of the National Electrical Contractors Association and participates extensively in fundraising for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Marci is a recipient of the Multiple Sclerosis Society Employer of the Year award.
Amy Benbrook, treasurer and founding member of PWC-NJ - Amy is a Partner at J.H. Cohn. Amy has more than 16 years of diversified public accounting experience, with a concentration in accounting, auditing and tax advisory services. Amy is a member of the Firm's Construction Industry Practice and Real Estate Industry Practice because of her depth of experience in those industries. Ms. Benbrook graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree from Monmouth University and is an active member of a number of industry associations, including the Utility Transportation and Contractors Association (UTCA), the Associated General Contractors of New Jersey (AGC), and the American Subcontractors Association (ASA). She is a member in good standing with the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the New Jersey State Society of Certified Public Accountants.
Lisa H. Lesser, general counsel of PWC-NJ and one of the founding members - Ms. Lesser has been with Peckar & Abramson since 1998. She is licensed to practice law in New Jersey and New York. Ms. Lesser specializes in all aspects of construction law including contract negotiations, contract administration, project support, scheduling and delay issues, cost increase and containment issues as well as lien and bond claims. She is also a member of the National Association of Women Lawyers, the American Bar Association of the New Jersey State Bar Association and its Section on Construction and Public Contract Law. Ms. Lesser received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the State University of New York in 1990 and her Juris Doctorate degree from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in 1993.
Kim A. Kules, board member of PWC-NJ - Kim is the CFO for AG Construction Corp. in Lincoln Park, NJ. With more than 15 years of executive experience in the construction industry, she participates in the continued support of forensic study and support of financial construction accounting. Her support and dedication to the construction industry is financial support, strategic planning, as well as integrating managerial information support systems for entire organizations. She primarily serves and consults in the commercial construction and residential home building sectors for privately held entities. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in accounting/finance and a Masters' of Business Studies degree in management information systems and holds the FACFEI and CFC designations.
Marjorie A. Perry, board member of PWC-NJ - Marjorie is President and CEO of MZM Construction Co., Inc. Marjorie, a Newark native, is an innovator and role model for women in non-traditional fields. Her Newark based firm, founded in 1992, has been cited for consistently completing construction projects within budget and on time. Her company provides general contracting work for fortune 500 companies such as Delta Airlines, Verizon, and Marriott. Perry has a B.A. degree from Kean College of New Jersey, a MBA in finance from New Jersey Institute of Technology, and a Certified Construction Project Manager from NJIT.
Lynn D. Shavelson, board member of PWC-NJ - Lynn is Corporate Counsel and Corporate Responsibility Officer for Skanska USA Building Inc. Ms. Shavelson was admitted to the New York and New Jersey bars in 1989. Prior to becoming an attorney, Ms. Shavelson worked in sales and marketing positions in both the health and computer industries and had her own business, owning two franchise restaurants in upstate New York. Ms. Shavelson received her B.A., summa cum laude, from Fairleigh Dickinson University and a J.D. degree from New York Law. She has concentrated in all areas of construction law litigation, arguing public bid, construction and commercial cases before administrative boards, arbitration panels, trial and appellate courts at both the state and federal levels. At Skanska, Ms. Shavelson is involved with Diversity Hiring Initiatives, Corporate Training and responsible for Code of Conduct implementation and oversight.
