PWC Philadelphia: Protect Yourself
STREET I.Q. programs are about mitigating and managing that risk. Our programs were developed drawing from the expertise of subject matter experts. From law enforcement, we’ve leveraged the ability to quickly and accurately assess predatory behavior as well as the physical environment. The military has proven formulas and methodologies for achieving objectives or goals. Our students learn to recognize, avoid or diffuse threats.
How? through the experiential learning process, defined as “learning through reflection on doing”. Accepted and statistically proven to ensure the highest degree of skill transference. Combining lecture, physical skills and situational immersion results in students that can immediately apply what they have been taught. Essentially this methodology “pressure tests” skills continually throughout the course resulting in an ability to effectively manage high stress situations ie; stress inoculation.
What will be taught? Recognition of threat cues, predatory verbal and behavioral clusters. Setting personal boundaries, controlling emotional responses, verbal de-escalation and simple and effective self-protection techniques predicated on mechanical strength just to name just a few.
