The Sports + Entertainment Group is currently seeking an experienced Project Development Manager with the ability to interact with a variety of staff at all levels in an ever-changing environment, remaining flexible, resourceful, proactive and efficient with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality. Excellent written and verbal communications skills are vital, with attention to detail equally important. The Project Development Manager will partner with the project team to produce high quality, professional work product performed with initiative, productivity, a positive attitude and behavior.

  • Works with Director of Project Development on market sector positioning and leads research for current and future markets.
  • Responsible for the identification and research of opportunity leads and filtering process through networking, personal relationships, cold calls, reading publications, attending customer events, and participating in industry organizations.
  • Have networking and relationship development responsibilities with Mortenson’s targeted customers and industry partners.
  • Assist the Sports Scientist by contributing to market and industry research, analyzing commercial data to distill trends and insights.
  • Work with Sports + Entertainment leadership and project design phase managers to further proprietary market analysis and manage the coordination of meetings with key stakeholders.
  • Works with Senior Marketing Manager to create and produce internal and external communications, marketing/branding/advertising materials and presentations.
  • Contribute technical and project specific content to proposals. Participate in presentations and work with the Mortenson leadership teams.
  • Function as the liaison between business development, design phase and marketing
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, Business, Marketing or related area plus a minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience.
  • History of work in a sports industry and knowledge of business practices and facility development preferred.
  • A current network of collegiate and professional sports contacts preferred.
  • Strategic, self-directed, exceptionally organized, responsive, tenacious, problem solver, collaborative, independent, team player.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently, self-motivated learner and capacity to investigate and become expert on new topics, techniques and industries and teach others.
  • Proficiency in tracking/managing wide range of leads with a focus on follow through and closure.
  • Persuasive, persistent, winsome self-starter motivated by challenge and change.
  • Adaptive, effective communication and active listening skills.
  • Possess traits that are consistent with Mortenson’s values of Trust, Teamwork, Safety, Service, Stewardship and Responsibility
